About this page...

Greetings and welcome to The Academy's Personal Leadership Development page.

I'm David, Director of the Midwest Academy, and I'd like to take a moment to explain the value of this page to you.

This page is an online supplement read by people in the martial arts community, military/law enforcement personnel, and numerous people in leadership roles. Regardless of your background, everyone is welcome to read and/or participate in the discussions.

I began this page to record some of the ideas that were being shared amongst seasoned students and teachers of both traditional and modern martial arts, as well as the leaders and experts, in all areas of life, whom I've had the good fortune to learn from and spend time with.

In my travels, deployments, and trainings around the world, I've learned that there are general patterns to creating success no matter which area of life you choose to create it in. One practice that keeps us focused on whatever our personal definition of success may be is to share and discuss our own ideas and to listen and learn from other peoples successes. That's what we intend to do here...so welcome and enjoy!

Respectfully,

David
